Speech Therapy for Adults

Melissa Johnson
M.S. CCC-SLP
Melissa Johnson is a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist residing in Santa Barbara, California. Melissa received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Communication Disorders and Master’s of Science degree in Medical Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the State of California.
Melissa has extensive experience working with a wide variety of individuals with speech and language disorders in diverse settings. Melissa has worked in outpatient clinics, acute care hospitals, rehabilitation units, schools, and private practice.
Melissa is always up-to-date with the latest advances in the field of speech and language pathology by participating in continuing education programs and attending conferences.

Consultation
Complimentary 15-minute phone calls are designed to determine if you or your child would benefit from a comprehensive evaluation or skilled services.

Evaluation
A speech-language evaluation may be conducted in order to determine the diagnosis, in addition to need, type, and frequency of therapy.

Treatment
Specific skills will be identified and targeted for treatment based on prior evaluation, readiness, and the family and client’s goals.
